Apollo for NREMT Prep
Practice NREMT-style clinical judgment with AI patient scenarios.
Apollo helps EMS students practice the thinking behind the call. Run an AI patient scenario, type what you would do, watch live vitals on a realistic cardiac monitor, and get a scored debrief showing what you missed.
Start with 3 free EMT-level beginner scenarios each month. Apollo is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
The NREMT Tests More Than Recall
Memorizing facts matters. You still need anatomy, pathophysiology, medications, assessment steps, and protocol knowledge. But EMS testing also expects you to apply that knowledge to a patient scenario.
That means you need to practice clinical judgment: recognizing what matters, asking the next question, identifying risk, choosing an action, and reassessing when the patient changes.
Apollo gives you a way to practice that process outside of class or lab.
Not exam-focused right now? See the EMT class practice page for patient assessment reps between labs.
Practice the Steps Behind the Answer
In Apollo, you do not just read a question and pick A, B, C, or D. You run the call.
Recognize the Patient Problem
Start with a chief complaint, scene context, and patient presentation. Decide what matters first.
Ask Assessment Questions
Type the questions you would ask. The AI patient responds so you can build the patient picture.
Track Vitals and Changes
Watch live vitals on a realistic cardiac monitor and adjust your thinking as the scenario develops.
Review What You Missed
After the call, get a scored debrief showing what you caught, what you missed, and where to improve.
Built Around the NREMT Clinical Judgment Framework
Apollo scoring is built around the NREMT Clinical Judgment framework so students can practice the kind of thinking EMS testing and patient care require.
That includes questions like:
- Did you identify the patient's main problem?
- Did you gather enough information before choosing a direction?
- Did you recognize abnormal findings?
- Did you choose actions appropriate to your level?
- Did you reassess after interventions?
- Did you communicate the patient picture clearly?
Apollo does not guarantee exam results. It gives you more practice making decisions inside patient scenarios.
How NREMT Scenario Practice Works in Apollo
1. Pick a Scenario
Choose a patient scenario that gives you practice applying knowledge instead of just memorizing terms or facts.
2. Work Through the Call
Type what you would ask, assess, or do. The AI patient responds so you can practice gathering cues and making decisions.
3. Reassess as Vitals Change
Follow live vitals on a realistic cardiac monitor and adjust your thinking as the patient presentation changes.
4. Review Your Clinical Judgment
Get a scored debrief built around clinical judgment so you can see what you caught, what you missed, and what to practice next.
What to Practice Before Test Day
Use Apollo to practice patient presentations where students often know the facts but hesitate when the information is incomplete.
| Practice Area | What to Focus On |
|---|---|
| Chest pain | Risk recognition, associated symptoms, 12-lead request when appropriate to level, aspirin/nitro decision-making by protocol |
| Respiratory distress | Work of breathing, lung sounds, oxygenation, ventilation, reassessment after treatment |
| Altered mental status | Glucose, hypoxia, stroke signs, intoxication, seizure, infection, trauma, and baseline history |
| Trauma | MOI, bleeding control, shock recognition, spinal motion restriction decisions, transport priority |
| Pediatric calls | Age-appropriate assessment, respiratory effort, perfusion, caregiver history, weight-based thinking when applicable |
| OB emergencies | Gestational age, bleeding, contractions, complications, delivery preparation, neonatal support |
| Behavioral health | Safety, medical causes, suicidal ideation, de-escalation, transport/referral decisions by protocol |
Use Coach Mode While You Build Confidence
Coach Mode gives hints and corrections during the scenario. Use it while you are learning how to recognize cues, choose next steps, and reassess. Turn it off when you want a more exam-like practice run.
Start With Free NREMT Scenario Practice
The free plan gives you 3 scenarios per month at EMT level and beginner difficulty. That is enough to try Apollo and start building a rhythm of scenario practice.
Students who want more reps can upgrade for more scenarios, more levels, more difficulty options, and scenario history.
| Plan | Includes | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 3 scenarios/month, EMT level, beginner difficulty | Trying Apollo |
| Student — $9.99/month | 20 scenarios/month, all levels and difficulties, scenario history | Regular exam and lab practice |
| Pro — $19/month | Unlimited scenarios plus PDF/DOCX export | Heavy practice and saved/exported debriefs |

A Simple 10-Minute NREMT Practice Routine
You do not need to run scenarios for hours. A short daily routine is more realistic and easier to keep.
- Pick one scenario. Choose a category you are weak in, not the one you already like.
- Run it without rushing. Type your assessment questions and decisions as if you were talking to a patient.
- Read the debrief. Look for one missed assessment step or decision point.
- Write one fix. Example: “On respiratory calls, I will ask about onset, lung sounds, position, and reassess after oxygen.”
- Repeat tomorrow. Change the patient type, complaint, or difficulty as you improve.
The goal is not to memorize one scenario. The goal is to build a repeatable assessment and decision-making process.
